Jill Brailsford

Jill has worked all her life as an artist.

Starting out in children’s book illustration and moving on to painting stained glass church windows, painting large works in oil and building a business selling cards and prints, using her illustrations.
She likes to try new things, and consequently has many different styles of artwork, which echo all the different types of images that she is influenced by, usually ones with beautiful colours.
She continues her love of painted stained glass and makes small painted panels, using traditional 12th century techniques.
This involves a long process of designing, cutting glass, painting and firing glass two or three times, leading, cementing and cleaning. Each piece is unique.
Her current obsession – Swap cards of the 1960’s and 70’s and Czech illustration for children.
