Liliz Lu Studio

Since she was a little girl, Liz – a Graphic Designer from León Guanajuato, Mexico – has been creating art with recycled materials.

She gives them a new use, fills them with colour and experiments with objects that were useless for others, and then transform them into a new and unique product.

She arrived in Australia in 2017 with her husband and a suitcase full of dreams, love and opportunities. Once in Melbourne, she became a Mum, and her new family encouraged her to follow her dream as an artist. She fell in love with the multiculturalism, and of course, the country that welcomed them to share Mexican traditions through her original works.

LilizLu Studio design and manufacture crafts with high standards of quality and detail through the use of Australian materials – mostly recycled – applying mixed techniques such as paper maché and cardboard. Liz develops environmentally-friendly collections of earrings, personalised figures, catrinas (Mexican dolls) alebrijes (Mexican folk art sculptures), Mexican hearts and much more, that showcase beautiful traditions and cultures.  | @lilizlu_studio
