Ardha Chandrasana - Half Moon Pose
Ardha for “half†and Chandra for “moonâ€.Â
Although the lunar deity in India is a man figure, I chose to represent this pose through the Triple Goddess archetypal figure whose symbol is made of 3 crescents. The Triple Goddess is the Goddess of the Moon and the witness of a women’s cycle. She is an allegory of the three main aspects of a woman’s life: the Maiden, the Mother and the Crone. Women can identify themselves with the Deity at each stage of their life and Ardha Chandrasana reflects this metaphor:Â
First, the Maiden represents enchantment, youth and promises. She rises up like the waxing crescent moon. Looking for foundation and balance in her life like in the posture, she is learning how to stand up and reach the sky, beautiful in her vulnerability. Â
Then, the stability and strength of the Mother shine. Full moon Mothers are a strong symbol of fertility and fulfilment. The posture comes to life by creating openness in the hips area. Feet are strongly anchored on earth. Mothers can keep their balance thanks to their experience and they extend arms and legs to lengthen the pose and possibilities in every direction. Â
At last, the Crone slowly takes our feet and mind back to earth. Descending on us like a beautiful waning moon, the Crone allows women to enter their third stage with wisdom and peace. The knowledge acquired by the years is ripe and ready to benefits the meditative state.
This posture can convey many meanings but I like to see it as a cycle you can build on and learn from. Even if the peak moment is established in stillness, there is a lot of movement and transition we can work on. How do we approach the posture, how can we bring more ease, flow and openness and how does it reflects our approach on life. We need strength and softness to hold Half Moon pose. The opposite tensions keep us balanced. Whether you are a man, woman or a non-binary yogi, you can trust the soothing Moon and her calming energy to go through life with peace and fulfilment.Â

At QVWC SHOP! we pride ourselves on our quality products and customer experience. We are happy to offer you free returns for change of mind on all full priced items within 30 days of purchase.
If 30 days have gone by since your purchase, unfortunately we can’t offer you a refund or exchange.
To be eligible for a return, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must also be in the original packaging.
Perishable items including food and cosmetics are unable to be returned.
To complete your return, please provide a receipt or proof of purchase.
Please do not send your purchase directly back to the maker / artist / manufacturer.
Any item not in its original condition, is damaged or missing parts for reasons not due to our error, or any item that is returned more than 30 days after delivery, may be granted a partial refund or store credit based on our discretion.
REFUNDS
Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original method of payment, within a certain amount of days.
LATE OR MISSING REFUNDS
If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.
Then contact your credit card company, it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.
Next contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale or markdown items are not applicable for a refund due to change of mind.
DAMAGED OR FAULTY GOODS
In the unlikely event of a faulty or damaged item we will offer to replace the item(s) depending on stock availability. If replacement item is not available a refund will be issued. Please return your faulty item to the store, or for online orders please contact us at shop@qvwc.org.au to resolve the issue.
GIFTS
If you would like to return something that was bought for you as a gift, we can offer a store credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift voucher will be emailed to you.
RETURNS POSTAGE
To return your product, please mail your product to: QVWC SHOP: 210 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, VIC, 3000, Australia.
You will be responsible for paying shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary, however we will endeavour to process your order within 3 working days of receipt. If you are returning something to us please email us at shop@qvwc.org.au to let us know to look out for the parcel that is on its way.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance.
