Vika Jewellery

Vika is a Melbourne based artist who fell in love with jewellery making from a young age. She started pursuing her jewellery career after finishing her studies at in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT.

Vika’s work is an exploration of her life experiences, both filled with excitement and traumas. She often creates one off pieces as her jewellery practice is a way of expression and exploration, allowing the pieces to change during the making process in order to achieve that genuine deep connection.

She considers jewellery as a form of wearable art with stories that bring people together.

What’s important / special about your work?

My work is important to me as it is a form of expression, it allows me explore and create meaningful pieces. Each piece is created with some sort of emotional input hence unique to me and I hope that others would also be able to feel a special connection with the pieces.

How do you want your work to make people feel?

I would like people to be able to feel a sense of connection with the work, adding to their style/personality and complimenting their individuality as the pieces I make are mainly one off pieces, you won’t find another that is exactly the same just like each individual person.

What inspires you?

The joy and excitement in people’s eyes you can see when they’re looking are admiring my work. It gives me a sense of fulfilment and it inspires me to create more jewellery that’ll connect people.
