This hand print depicted in the work is genuine hand print of Samantha Azzopardi and was painted in Dame Phyllis Frost Centre's womens maximum security prison. Artist Kelly was in prison with Sam and she was kind enough to be my muse for the insipation of this work.

Meet the Maker: Kelly Flanagan
Kelly Flanagan is a proud Wiradjuri woman from New South Wales now living and creating on Wurundjeri Country in Naarm (Melbourne). Her contemporary acrylic works reflect strength, survival, and cultural identity, drawing deeply from her lived experience as a First Nations woman and survivor. Through her art and storytelling, she transforms personal truth into powerful expressions of healing, connection, and resilience.
