Each Pāli basket is individually handwoven in a remote village in Myanmar, from new pallet strapping made from recycled plastics. Plastics are collected by locals from streets and beaches, recycled into pellets, then made into rolls of new strapping.

Our Passionfruit style uses bamboo in the base and rattan in the handles, purchased from local farmers.

The traditional Burmese weaving techniques have been passed down through generations. Every basket sold enables our ongoing support of the artisans, village families and local Burmese communities.

All baskets are fully recyclable at the end of their very long lives, please contact us for more information.

*There may be a slight variance in sizes up to 2cm as baskets are individually handwoven

Small baskets hold up to 10kg.
Approximate size: L: 31cm W: 19cm H: 26cm H:(w handle) 38cm

Medium baskets can hold up to 12kg.
Approximate size: L: 34cm W: 21cm H: 28cm H:(w handle) 40cm

Standard Shipping: $12.95 flat rate for orders under $150

Free Shipping: Orders over $150 (Australia only)

Carrier: All parcels are sent via Australia Post

Tracking: Tracking details are emailed once your order is shipped. If you haven’t received them, contact shop@qvwc.org.au

Delivery Time: Orders are processed within 1–2 business days. Delivery takes 1–5 business days depending on your location

Express Shipping: Not available at this time

Multiple Addresses: Each delivery address must be placed as a separate order.

Returns & Exchanges

We want you to love your purchase. We offer returns for change of mind on all full‑priced items within 30 days of purchase.

Eligibility:

  • Item must be unused, in original condition, and in original packaging

  • Receipt or proof of purchase is required

  • Perishable items (food, earrrings, cosmetics) cannot be returned

  • Do not send returns directly to the maker/artist/manufacturer

Items returned after 30 days, or not in original condition, may be eligible for a partial refund or store credit at our discretion.

Visit us in store to process your return or exchange your item(s).

You are responsible for return postage costs. These are non‑refundable and will be deducted from your refund if applicable. For items over $75, we recommend using a trackable service or purchasing shipping insurance.

Meet the Maker: Pali Baskets

Pāli was founded in 2018 following a collaboration with artisans in a remote village in Myanmar, inspired by the Burmese weaving traditions passed down through generations. Founded by Melbourne-based mother-daughter team Maggie and Cass, Pāli works directly and ethically with artisans through trusted local partners, bringing traditional craftsmanship to a global audience. Since then, the brand has expanded its support network to include artisan communities across the Philippines and Java.
