Bark, the latest addition to TDR’s 3d printed vase collection, reflects our passion for the beauty of the Australian bush.

Bark is based on the surface of one Red Stringybark tree (Eucalyptus Macrorynchus), familiar to designer Chief Rabbit from her daily walks. Its photograph was the basis of a sophisticated image map, which was painstakingly manipulated it into a cohesive, functional 3d object.

Bark is a homage to the natural beauty all around us, to nature’s resilience, and to the deep history every tree holds in its skin.

Bark is printed with eco-friendly, gritty, low-glitter textures, which enhance its surface detail.

Care Instruction

Vase Care
If you've never seen or handled a 3D printed object before, our vases may surprise you. They are incredibly light, weighing between 50 and 200 grams. Here's some important tips for vase care and handling:

* Treat your vase like a handmade object. It is made up of hundreds of individually printed layer lines (not injection moulded).

* To avoid breakage, do not squeeze hard, and avoid dropping (particularly on hard surfaces).

* PLA is not UV resistant, so vases are not recommended for prolonged outdoor use, or placement in very direct or hot sun.

* Half-fill your vase with water, and support from the bottom when lifting to avoid squeezing the vase.

* To clean, rinse between uses with cool water, and drain upside down. Not dishwasher safe.

Planet care

* The Daily Rabbit is committed to making sustainably. Most vases are made very speedily on demand.

* We use only high quality degradable and biodegradable plant-based material such as PLA (polylactic acid), which is commercially compostible.

* The design and production process happens in a studio powered by solar energy. Water used for testing is recycled into a beautiful garden.

* Vases are shipped using recycled and/or other eco-friendly packaging.

How to Use

Each Bark vase comes with a removeable inner sleeve, enabling the use of water. The vase can be used for fresh flowers when the watertight sleeve is installed, or for dried arrangements sans sleeve.
