Was there a mother figure in your life who influenced you learning any of the skills you use in your business?

So many!!
From my fashion designing mum, crafting genius grandmother, professional cake maker aunty, florist aunty, many friends who juggle running a business and family,
I have been so lucky to have been surrounded by enterprising women (and men) my whole life. So many women in my life are creative geniuses. My grandmother taught me how to knit and bead, my mum taught me how to sew and draw, my sister taught me how to take photos. All these skills have attributed to me taking the steps to start my own creative business

Did your mother (or Aunt, Grandma, mother figure) inspire you to take the path to starting your business or creative project?

When I decided to take the leap in starting my own business, it was my female friends that I leaned in on to ask their advice and suggestions. They all gave me great advice and a big boost of confidence.
My mum and sister also gave me the much needed boost to back myself.
I was encouraged from a young age by my mum to pursue my creative interests. Our house was full of paints, materials, crafting, making and building. This creative childhood was the foundation for my creative career.

How do you juggle motherhood with running a business? What does the reality of that look like?

Coming from an enterprising family, I have been lucky to have the support from my family to just "go for it!". They have been with me every step of the way. My husband has been super supportive and we equally share the juggle of kids.

When you think the ‘WHY’ of your business, how does being a mum impact this?

I started my business for a few reasons and being a mum was one of them. The flexibility of hours was a big part early on. But now it is so much more than that. I want to show my kids that you can start from scratch, build something from nothing, build a business that is based on your values and passion and create something that also positively impacts the community around you.
It gives me so much joy to have my kids sit beside me as we all draw together. I have been able to make their own t shirts too. They are growing up seeing how a business works and that they can find ways to make their art work too.
